What method do you use for cleaning?
We utilize hot water extraction, commonly known as steam cleaning. This method injects hot, soft water and a specially formulated cleaning solution deep into the carpet fibers. A powerful suction then extracts dirt, allergens, cleaning solution, and 95% of the moisture. It's the cleaning method most recommended by carpet manufacturers.
Do I need to vacuum before the crew arrives?
A light vacuuming in high-traffic areas is recommended to remove large debris. If needed, our crew can pre-vacuum the area to be cleaned. Additionally, our equipment vacuums the entire time we are cleaning.
Do you move furniture?
We move light furniture such as sofas, chairs, and tables without lamps or pictures. However, we recommend not moving items like pianos, electronics, china cabinets, waterbeds, beds, and dressers with mirrors. Please remove items off of your furniture like plants, lamps, and knick-knacks before our arrival.
How long will it take for my carpet to dry?
Dry time depends on humidity, temperature, and air circulation. Typically, carpets take between 4–6 hours to dry completely. Using fans and adjusting your HVAC system can help accelerate drying time. Please leave protective blocks under furniture legs and any plastic used until the carpet and/or furniture is completely dry to avoid color transfer.
I've heard that cleaning my carpet makes it soil faster. Is this true?
This issue often arises from residues left in the carpet that attract dirt. Our specially formulated solution and hot water extraction process leave little to no residue behind, reducing the likelihood of rapid re-soiling.
I've had my carpet cleaned, but the spots have reappeared. What should I do?
Some substances in carpet backing may wick to the surface after cleaning. If you notice this, place a fan directly on the spot after cleaning to aid in drying. Fast drying is key to preventing this issue. If the problem persists, please contact us at (912) 295-5925 as soon as possible.
How often should I have my upholstered furniture professionally cleaned?
Manufacturers recommend professional cleaning every 12–24 months, depending on use. At Tru-Steam, we recommend cleaning every 6–12 months to protect your family's health.
